“Congrats, baby brother.” Bennett pulled Julian out of Brandt’s grasp to hug him. “I’m so proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished.” Bennett kissed him on the forehead. “And I couldn’t have picked a better man for you to spend the rest of your life with.”

“Excuse me.” Brandt patted down on his pockets, then cheered when he found his phone. “If you wouldn’t mind saying that again. I’d like to record what you just said. I don’t know if I’ll ever get the chance to hear you say something so nice again. Especially toward me.” Brandt winked.

“Such a smart ass,” Bennett said under his breath but the grin on his face showed his humor. “You’re lucky I like you.” Bennett shook his finger at Brandt.

“So, were you surprised?” Brandt wound his arms low on Julian’s waist.

“Very.” Julian snaked his arms around Brandt’s neck. “You know technically we’re already married.”

“We are, but I want it official in the way humans do it.” Brandt chuckled and the sound was evil and taunting. “I want you tied to me every way possible, Julian Taylor.”

“Oh, so I’m taking your last name, am I?” Julian cocked an eyebrow.

“You bet your ass you are.” Brandt smacked Julian on the butt. “I mean, if that’s cool with you and all.”

“You’d better believe that it is.” Julian arched up to kiss Brandt on the lips. “I love you, Brandt.”

“And I you, baby.” Brandt let out a happy sigh.

Julian glanced around at all his family and friends. It was moments like this that made life worth living. A person could get lost in the past and the bad things that took place but they weren’t worth holding on to. Life was short and Julian planned to savor every day with Brandt. The road he was on now wasn’t an easy one to merge onto but the rough ride was worth the journey. Being in love could cure anything and Julian planned on spending the rest of his days loving Brandt and looking forward to what happened next.
